Dr. T. Rand Collins

Canadian physician Dr. T. Rand Collins knows first hand how challenging it can be getting timely access to excellent medical care in the Canadian health system. While he acknowledges the quality of Canadian healthcare, he recognizes that not everyone can afford the inconvenience, and even discomfort, of the often lengthy wait for diagnostic studies and surgical procedures to alleviate problems. This knowledge, plus a love of travel and a broad medical experience, has positioned him well as the Senior Vice President, Western Operations, of International Health Care Providers Inc. He is committed to providing Canadian clients with the level of service, attention and access to medical care that he would want for himself and his family!

Dr. Collins completed his Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Physics, a Master’s degree in Biology at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, B.C. and a doctorate in Biophysics at the University of California, Berkeley. He attended medical school at the University of Chicago. After completing his residency at the University of Washington, he practiced as a board-certified pathologist in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.

He served as Medical Director for SmithKline Beecham’s Pacific Northwest reference laboratory for many years, and directed laboratories at rural hospitals in Alaska and Washington.

An accomplished fine art photographer, Dr. Collins has most recently indulged his love of photography and travel by working as a pathologist in Alaska, Oregon and the mountains of Appalachian Kentucky. As a result, he is experienced in a broad spectrum of medical practice and hospital settings.

Dr. Collins lives with his wife on beautiful Vancouver Island on British Columbia’s Pacific Coast and commutes regularly to the cities of the Pacific Northwest.
