Comprehensive Radiology and Women’s Imaging Services from RMI

With leading-edge medical imaging technology and a distinguished staff of board certified radiologists, RMI provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic and screening services.

Women’s Imaging – RMI is accredited as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology, and offers the following breast services:

• Mammography
• Breast MRI
• Breast-Specific Gamma Imaging
• Image-Guided Breast Biopsy
• Breast Ultrasound

Bone Densitometry (DEXA) – a state-of-the-art method to test for possible bone density loss due to such conditions as osteoporosis.

CT (Computed Tomography) – for situations when highly detailed images of internal organs and tissues are needed. To maintain the highest standards of medical radiation safety, RMI participates in Image Gently, a program of the Alliance for Radiation Safety in Pediatric Imaging.

Image-Guided Biopsies – a method of testing for some types of cancer without major surgery.

Interventional Radiology – Provides minimally invasive alternatives to major surgery for various diagnostic and treatment purposes, such as vein access for kidney dialysis or chemotherapy, or for treating certain liver or kidney disorders.

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) – Uses radio waves to produce images for a variety of diagnostic and screening purposes.

Nuclear Medicine – For purposes ranging from evaluating heart, circulatory, or internal organ functions to diagnosing or treating cancer.

PET/CT – A single test that combines the capabilities of two imaging modalities: PET (Positron Emission Tomography), which images the functional processes of organs and tissues, and CT (Computed Tomography), which creates highly detailed image “slices” of specific locations in the body.

Ultrasound – Uses sound waves to create full-motion images of the inside of the body for a variety of diagnostic and testing purposes.

X-ray – Used for diagnosis or treatment planning for a broad range of illnesses, injuries, or conditions.
